Those living near Jamestown Beach who have jumpy pets might want to consider taking them out for the night on New Year’s Eve.

On Sunday, Jamestown Beach Park will be setting off fireworks to celebrate the New Year, according to a James City County news release. This means that beginning around 9:30 p.m., residents in nearby neighborhoods should prepare for loud noise from the fireworks.

The fireworks will last about 10 minutes, the release said.

The fireworks will shoot off alongside Billsburg Brewery’s Oyster Roast Fest, located at 2054 Jamestown Road. If locals want to see the fireworks instead of just listening from home, tickets to the event can be purchased online.

The fireworks are expected to be heard in the following areas:

  • Chanco’s Grant
  • Deer Run
  • Drummond’s Field
  • Fernbrook
  • First Colony
  • Foxfield
  • Holly Ridge
  • Jamestown 1607
  • Jamestown Hundred
  • Landfall Village
  • Powhatan Shores
  • Powhatan Village
  • Raleigh Square
  • St. George’s Hundred
  • The Point at Jamestown

For those looking for other options, there are a variety of other celebrations throughout Greater Williamsburg.
