Even though the Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed this holiday, there are still ways to finish your driving-related errands.
In observance of the holidays, DMV customer service centers will be closed across Virginia from Sunday, Dec. 24, to Tuesday, Dec. 26, according to a DMV news release.
For the new year, the DMV will be closed Jan. 1-2.
To make service easier for Virginians during these closures, the DMV offers a variety of online transactions online, the release said. Drivers can renew licenses, registrations, license plates and much more online during the closures.
The DMV encourages those who require small services to use their website. The online service allows customers to perform transactions quickly online, even when the center is closed, rather than making last-minute trips that require in-person fees.
