Police search for accused Family Dollar robber

NORFOLK — Police are searching for an armed man accused of robbing a Family Dollar store in Norfolk on Thursday.

The man allegedly came into the 618 E. Little Creek Road store around 1:20 p.m. and used a gun to demand money from the clerk. After getting the money, he left the store on foot, according to the Norfolk Police Department.

One responding officer saw a man who looked like the accused robber near Tidewater Drive and Thole Street. In an effort to detain him, the Virginia Beach Police Department lent the NPD their helicopter and police set a perimeter, but the man couldn’t be located.

The accused robber is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall and in his early 20s. If you recognize him, call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
