VIRGINIA BEACH — A crash involving five vehicles seriously injured one and closed a portion of Indian River Road Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after 2 p.m., dispatch received the call about the crash in the 3100 block of Indian River Road.
The Virginia Beach Fire Department helped with the removal of one person from their vehicle. That person was brought to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Indian River Road was closed between North Landing Road and Clarke Drive until around 6 p.m.
The crash is under investigation.
