Authorities are searching for a Yorktown man who is considered armed and dangerous.
Deputies are looking for 35-year-old Justin Marshall Evans, who is wanted on several larceny charges in York County, according to a news release from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office recommends citizens do not approach Evans if they see him, and instead call 911 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
Online court records show Evans has been charged with drug and gun-related offenses in the past.
Records state Evans was in jail for over six years awaiting trial on charges from 2009, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance, and possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs.
Evans was sentenced to 14 years and six months in April 2016, according to online court records for the York-Poquoson Circuit Court. All but five years of the sentence was suspended, resulting in his release from jail soon after his sentencing.
Evans was arrested again for violating probation in September 2016. He was given 7 months to serve in prison, records show.
