The starting gun for the annual Warhill Run/Walk 8K will go off Saturday morning, and the deadline for online registration is Thursday at midnight.

The 13th annual Warhill Run/Walk race is a Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix 8K that will be held at the Warhill Indoor Sports Complex Nov. 18, according to a news release from Colonial Road Runners. The race is the 18th of 20 Grand Prix races done by Colonial Road Runners in 2017.

Runners can register on-site beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Runners can register online through Thursday evening at midnight, Colonial Road Runners race coordinator Rick Platt.

A one-mile fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. before the 8k run/walk at 9 a.m. Online entry for the fun run costs $5 and the run/walk costs $25. Registering on race day will cost an additional $5. All online entrants are guaranteed a t-shirt, the release said.

The course will take runners along the service road around WISC’s soccer field, a loop around the Warhill Nature Trail, an out-and-back to Longhill Road before finishing next to WISC.

An awards ceremony will follow the race at 10:30 a.m. The top-three finishing men and women, as well as the top-three in five-year age groups, will be presented with awards.

Volunteers are still needed for the finish line crew, Platt said. To volunteer, contact Platt by email at, or by calling 757-229-7375.
