Police search for man who allegedly hid in woman’s car before stealing purse

VIRGINIA BEACH — Police are looking for a man who allegedly hid in a car before taking off with a woman’s purse.

The robbery happened on Oct. 14 when a woman left her car unlocked while it was parked in the Lynnhaven Shopping Center, located at 1505 Lynnhaven Parkway. Virginia Beach Police Department detectives believe the man got into her car and hid in the backseat. When she got into the car, he held up a knife and stole her purse before fleeing, according to a news release.

He is described as having facial hair, being in his early to mid-20s and standing between 5-feet-9-inches and 5-feet-11-inches tall.
