Police investigate possible explosive device near Colonial Williamsburg

Williamsburg police were called to a parking lot at the intersection of S. Boundary Street and Francis Street around 5 p.m. Thursday for reports of “a possible explosive device,” according to Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department.

Williamsburg Police, Fire and Colonial Williamsburg Public Safety were still on the scene at 8:45 p.m. waiting for “additional assets” to help make a determination about the nature of the device, Riley said.
