VIRGINIA BEACH – The next general election in Virginia is less than two months away.
Do you need to register to vote or get an absentee ballot for the Nov. 7 election?
Virginia Beach residents can register to vote online or in person at the Voter Registration & Elections office. Residents can also register at any Virginia Beach Public Library location and Department of Motor Vehicles offices in conjunction with DMV transactions.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 16.
All absentee ballots must be received by mail, email, fax or online by 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31.
Residents can vote absentee in person through Saturday, Nov. 4 at these three locations:

During the November general election, residents will elect a new governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, House of Delegates representatives, Commonwealth’s Attorney, sheriff, commissioner of revenue and treasurer.
