NORFOLK — The parent company of the Spirit of Norfolk is adding a new vessel to their list of charter cruises.

Entertainment Cruises announced Tuesday morning that it will be christening a new private yacht named Virginia Elite at the beginning of October. The yacht will be available for private events and celebrations.

The addition comes after renovations were made to the Spirit of Norfolk in Spring of 2016.

The yacht, which is docked at the Downtown Norfolk harbor, will be the 37th vessel to join the company’s fleet and is expected to offer a unique experience on the water.

“We want our guests to think of the Virginia Elite as their yacht, and every event is customizable,” said general manager Jolene Price-Thompson in a news release. “The yacht holds 66 to 80 people for a beautiful and delicious cruise showcasing the stunning Elizabeth River harbor.”

Measured at 70 feet long, the Virginia Elite is slated to feature cruise enhancements like live entertainment and custom decor, food and floral.

The vessel will also be able to travel to a variety of docking piers as guests can charter a cruise to travel throughout the region.

“We are so excited to have a boat that will be able to dock in Williamsburg, Suffolk, Newport News, Hampton and Virginia Beach,” said Price-Thompson. “We can design a route to explore the best of Southeastern Virginia’s waterfront.”

Pricing to charter the private yacht for a party or event will start at $1,500 for two hours and are subject to change depending on cruise enhancements.

The Virginia Elite will be christened on Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. in downtown Norfolk.

Editor’s note: The date of the yacht’s christening has been corrected.
