Williamsburg residents and college students can expect to hear a campus-wide siren coming from the College of William & Mary on Wednesday.
The university will test its emergency notification system at 12:15 p.m., including the campus-wide siren and the mass notification messaging system, according to a William & Mary news release.
The 120-decibel siren is located above the Integrated Science Center, the William & Mary Law School on South Henry Street and the School of Education building off Monticello Avenue, the release said.
Although Wednesday’s siren will only be a test, people who hear the siren on a non-test day may check for information and instructions at www.wm.edu, the release said.
Community members can also receive emergency news through the William & Mary Facebook and Twitter pages, and the William & Mary smartphone app.
