VIRGINIA BEACH — Discount Tire plans to open its second location in Virginia Beach in December.
The tire store first opened its doors on the Southside in the spring with its location at 3949 Holland Road. The newest location, which is set to open Dec. 10, is under construction on the corner of Dam Neck Road and General Booth Boulevard.
The new Discount Tire is expected to include three to five service bays, and bring between 15 and 20 full-time and part-time jobs to the area, company spokeswoman Sarah Broyles wrote in an email.
The Discount Tire chain sells brands like Michelin, Goodyear Tires and BFGoodrich Tires. It also offers tire installation and maintenance services like flat tire repair and balance and rotation. The company also offers some free services, like tread wear and air pressure checks, Broyles wrote.
The company, which was founded in 1960, has 950 stores across 33 states, Broyles wrote. The newest store is the fourth Discount Tire to be built in Virginia, including locations in Suffolk and North Chesterfield.
The newest location is one of eight locations planned for Virginia in upcoming years.
“Discount Tire keeps adding stores to locations where the demand keeps growing and Virginia continues to be a key area of focus for future growth,” Broyles wrote.
