SOUTHSIDE — Ten people were injured and one person was killed during shootings in Virginia Beach and Norfolk this weekend.
The first shooting was reported in Virginia Beach early Saturday morning when a Virginia Beach Police Department officer was working at a hospital and a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound came in around 3 a.m.
More than 12 hours later, another man was seriously injured in a shooting in the 800 block of 35th Street, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
The man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. His injury is life threatening, police said.
About 9 hours later, Virginia Beach police responded to the sound of gunshots near the Aura Night Club, located at 3314 Holland Road. Around 1:45 a.m., they discovered a person suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and took them to a local hospital, according to the VBPD.
Two other shooting victims came into the hospital while the first victim was being treated. Police believe the three injuries are related to an incident that could have happened in the Green Run Square Shopping Center area.
A violent party
Two hours later in Norfolk, six people were found shot, one fatally, in three different locations around the city. Police believe they were all shot at a party in the 1500 block of Azalea Garden Road.
Just before 3:30 a.m., police responded to two men who had been shot and were at the corner of East Princess Anne Road and Monticello Avenue. The men were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries, but are expected to survive, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
Shortly after that, police responded to a gunshot victim in the 1500 block of Azalea Garden Road. There they found Maxie Mock, 25, of the 1800 block of Princeton Avenue, shot to death in an apartment full of people.
A few minutes later, a man and a woman arrived at different hospitals with minor gunshot injuries.
Finally, around 5:30 a.m., Norfolk detectives were notified by Suffolk police that a 26-year-old woman walked into Sentara BelleHarbour Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. She was treated and released.

A previous version of this story said that four people were shot at the party. Police later learned of two more victims.
