Fuel spill snarls traffic in Grafton

Update 12:45 p.m.: Goodwin Neck Road has been reopened, according to an alert from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office. 

The Virginia Department of Transportation responded to a fuel spill along Goodwin Neck Road in the Grafton area of York County Thursday morning, police say.

According to a Facebook post by the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, the westbound side of Goodwin Neck was closed due to the spill. 

“This may take a few hours to clean up,” the post read. “Please avoid the area if possible.”
