VIRGINIA BEACH – A 37-year-old is wanted by state police after evading both state and local police early Wednesday morning.
Police said Aaron Joyner was spotted on I-264 at 2:43 a.m. going 79 mph. When police tried to stop Joyner, he fled and took an exit onto Rosemont Road. Police said Joyner crashed his car on Bonney Road after running a red light and ran from the scene on foot.
Local and state police attempted to locate Joyner but were unable to. Two passengers were also held, according to the state police.
Warrants for Joyner have been issued for felony eluding, speeding, resisting arrest, driving on a revoked operators license and driving under the influence. Those warrants have not yet been served, police said.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story said that Joyner had been arrested and taken to a city jail. That information was incorrect. Joyner has not been arrested.
