Jack Johnson’s ‘mind is for sale’ and soon so are tickets to his Virginia Beach concert

VIRGINIA BEACH — Jack Johnson’s mind is for sale, and starting July 17 so are presale tickets to his upcoming concert in Virginia Beach.

Johnson announced the addition of eight new tour dates to celebrate his newest album, “All The Light Above It Too.” Among those is a Sept. 27 date at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater.

Along for the tour is folk musician Bahamas.

“All The Light Above It Too” is set to release on Sept. 8. Recorded at his Mango Tree Studio, Johnson played and recorded most of the instrumentation himself, according to a news release.

Johnson said the album is a raw testament to the last year of his life.

“This album shares what has been on my mind during the past year or so,” Johnson said.

“A year in which I sailed through the North Atlantic Gyre for a documentary about plastic pollution in the ocean,” he continued. “A year in which Trump was elected as President of the United States. A year in which I camped, surfed, got stitches, explored, dreamed, shared time and endless conversation with my family and friends … all of which inspired these songs.”

The announcement came with the release of his newest single, “My Mind Is For Sale,” which Rolling Stone reports shares anti-President Donald J. Trump sentiments.
