Norfolk police: Man charged in connection to McDonald’s shooting

NORFOLK — A 38-year-old man was injured in a shooting at a Norfolk McDonald’s on Wednesday morning, police say.

The man was shot around 9 a.m. inside the restaurant, located at 2328 East Princess Anne Road, and taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, according to the Norfolk Police Department.

He is expected to survive his injury, police say.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after 9 a.m. and arrested 54-year-old Stephan Hayes, of the 2000 block of East Virginia Beach Boulevard. Hayes was charged with malicious wounding and use of a gun in the commission of a felony, according to the NPD.
