NORFOLK — The day that some Southside shoppers have been waiting for is almost here, as Norfolk Premium Outlets is set to host its grand opening Thursday.
The celebration will feature opening-day discounts, live music, prize giveaways and activities organized by the Simon Property Group on Thursday and Friday.
For two days, shoppers will have access to discounts ranging from 25 to 65 percent off in an array of stores. Participating retailers will also host in-store events of their own to provide customers with deals throughout the weekend.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to receive other deals through the Simon Property VIP Shopper Club. Interested customers will be able to sign up for the free membership program, which will give shoppers access to coupons and other benefits.
Patrons will be able to register to win prizes from $100 to $500 from 11 a.m. to 4:55 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Winners will be announced at the Entertainment Stage near the Market Hall food court at the top of every hour.
Guests looking to take a break from shopping will be able to enjoy live entertainment and music courtesy of DJ Kurt, BJ Griffin Duo and The Significant Others.
There will also be a series of activities for the entire family, including face painting and balloon artists, as well as a 60’s-themed beach party, complete with a beach ball drop at the Entertainment stage, on Friday from 7:30-9 p.m.
Norfolk Premium Outlets will be open for extended hours this weekend. Stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
