Virginia Beach residents asked to voice opinion on new city hall options at public meetings

VIRGINIA BEACH — The city of Virginia Beach will hold its first public meeting to discuss options for a new or renovated city hall next Monday.

Representatives from the city will be at the meetings to answer questions and provide information. Feedback from residents will be provided to city council for them to consider before making a decision.

So far, there are eight options for the future of city hall.

The city can either choose to add more square feet to its current building, erect a new building at the Virginia Beach municipal center or move to Town Center. All options would cost around $56 million.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, June 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center’s building 19
  • Wednesday, July 26 from 5-6 p.m. on Facebook Live
  • Wednesday, July 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center
  • Wednesday, Aug. 23 from 6-8 p.m. at the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center Ballroom
