A Hampton woman who pleaded guilty to obtaining oxycodone by fraud in York County last month is facing related charges in multiple jurisdictions across southeastern Virginia.
Jeana Jiles, 34, was sentenced to 20 years in prison with all but one year and three months suspended in the York-Poquoson Circuit Court April 20, according to York court records.
Police say Jiles forged doctors’ signatures and prescription paperwork to obtain over 4,300 prescription pills from pharmacies across southeastern Virginia, according to a search warrant filed by Chesapeake Police in the York-Poquoson Circuit Court April 24.
The pills, namely oxycodone, have a street value of over $43,000, the warrant states.
Jiles is now scheduled to appear in general district courts in Chesapeake, Virginia Beach and Hampton for charges of obtaining drugs by fraud and one count of possession of a controlled substance, according to online court records.
Police have been conducting a narcotics investigation involving Jiles since December 2016, and have connected her to incidents of alleged prescription fraud at 19 different pharmacies, the warrant says.
According to police, pharmacies in the Hampton Roads area have reported fraudulent prescriptions being passed for oxycodone, a schedule II narcotic, the warrant said.
“On multiple occasions Jeana Jiles has presented over 30 fraudulent prescriptions which were manufactured on light blue paper,” the warrant said, adding that the papers also included doctor’s information.
Investigators confirmed with the doctor on the prescriptions that she had not authorized those prescriptions to be filled, documents state.
Jiles was arrested March 14 in York County and charged with four counts of obtaining drugs by fraud and one count of possession of a controlled substance, court records show. Two of the fraud charges were dropped as part of her plea agreement.
Jiles has a history of drug possession and prescription fraud charges dating back to 2013, according to court records.
