Funhouse Fest made its debut in 2016 and event organizers have announced new additions for the music festival’s second year.
A second stage featuring acoustic music and the presence of new food vendors, craft beer breweries and wineries are additions to the upcoming music festival, according to a press release from Virginia Arts Festival.
The three-day music festival will be held on the lawn of the Art Museum of Colonial Williamsburg June 23-25.
The Virginia Arts Festival is co-producing Funhouse Fest with Grammy Award-winning musician and Williamsburg native Bruce Hornsby.
“As with any first year event, much was learned about what went very well and what changes will create an even better concert and Festival experience for patrons and the artists,” said Virginia Arts Festival Public Relations Director Cynthia Carter West. “By all accounts, 2016 Funhouse Fest was a great success.”
The main stage will also be positioned higher to make for easier viewing, said West.
Six food trucks will be present all three days of Funhouse Fest. Participating food trucks include Food-A-Tude, Cast Iron Catering Company, Capt’n Crabby, Two Dummers Off Beat Eats, Bodacious Pizza and The Food Dude. Food purveyors from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation will also offer food options.
Three day passes and single-day tickets went on sale March 17 at the same time this year “to give patrons more flexibility in their ticket purchases,” according to West. In 2016, single-day tickets were made available after full-weekend passes.
Bathrooms will also be re-positioned to better serve patrons, and the perimeter around the festival area will be widened, said West.
In addition to Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, Funhouse Fest will be headlined by nine-time Grammy Award winner Sheryl Crow, “blues-jazz-roots ensemble” Lake Street Dive, and “genre-bending” singer-songwriter Rhiannon Gidden. The Staves, yMusic, Kenny Garrett and Bruce Hornsby & Sonny Emory Duo will also perform at the festival.
Tickets can be purchased online at FunhouseFest.com, by phone at 757-282-2822, or in person at the Virginia Arts Festival Box Office at 440 Bank St., Norfolk, VA.
