UPDATED: I-64 westbound in York County reopened, 5-mile backup remains

UPDATED 1:07 p.m. All lanes have reopened. A five mile traffic backup remains.

Both lanes are blocked about a mile before exit 242 on Interstate 64 westbound in York County, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation news release.

Authorities are reporting a 5-mile traffic backup and are recommending motorists take an alternative route, the release said.
