More than 200 boxes of books, DVDs and CDs will be up for sale in the Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library’s annual book sale this weekend.
The sale will offer adult books for $2-$4, children’s books for $1-$2 and audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs for $2-$5 Friday and Saturday.
All remaining items will be marked down to half price Sunday, according to a press release from the Williamsburg Regional Library.
The three-day event kicks off Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Williamsburg Community Building, across from the Williamsburg Library. Friday admission is limited to Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library members. Sign-ups will be taken at the door.
The general public will be able to attend the sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
“A lot of hard work goes into selecting and storing the pristine books and media for the annual book sale,” said book sale coordinator Jean Johnston. “I know that the volunteers who work the sale will be there to help our friends and neighbors. But most importantly, the annual book sale is a visible reminder of the importance of the library in our community.”
The sale’s proceeds will fund the Williamsburg Regional Library.
In the past year, Friends of WRL have given more than $150,000 to WRL for library collections, programs, community concerts, reducing the hold lists for popular titles, and supporting programs for children, according to the release.
