VIRGINIA BEACH – While most people ate pies – of both the dessert and pizza varieties – to celebrate Pi Day, one local business encouraged their employees to throw whipped cream pies.
In honor of the mathematical Pi, or 3.14, Clark Nexsen employees purchased raffle tickets at 3 p.m. on the 14th floor of the company’s building in Town Center. When the winning ticket numbers were announced, those ticket holders were given the opportunity to throw whipped cream pies at three Clark Nexsen senior leaders.
Combined with proceeds from a Valentine’s Day rose sale, the company collected more than $15,300 for the United Way Campaign.
“Our employees have such a great spirit of fun and enjoy coming up with unique ways to support our United Way campaign,” said Clark Nexsen President Terri Hall. “I was happy to take one for the team to celebrate Pi Day and raise money for a great cause.”
