Police seek man who stole Lexus, gun after robbing two people

James City County Police are investigating after a man threatened two people with a gun and stole a vehicle belonging to one of the victims.

A man reported to police he was robbed around 8 p.m. Feb. 20 by a person he knew, James City County Police spokeswoman Stephanie Williams said.

The victim told police he and a friend were standing outside his vehicle at a house in the 5400 block of Olde Towne Road when a person he knew pulled out a gun and demanded money, Williams said.

The two victims gave the man money, Williams said.

The man then fled in one victim’s 2007 Lexus, which had a cell phone and the second victim’s gun – a Sig Sauer handgun – inside, Williams said.

The victim located his vehicle on Barlow Road in York County on Feb. 23.

The gun belonging to the second victim was no longer inside when the car was recovered, Williams said. The vehicle also sustained some front end damage while it had been stolen, she said.

Police continue to investigate the incident, she said.
