A man suffered severe bruising on his face after two men allegedly assaulted him at a Williamsburg Shell station Thursday night.

Williamsburg Police responded to the Shell station at 1625 Richmond Road around 7:15 p.m. Thursday for a report of an assault with injuries, police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley said.

When officers arrived, the victim told police two men, Marlon Shay Hamilton, 29, and Kenneth Edward Hamilton, 33, assaulted him at the gas station, Riley said.

Medics assessed the victim at the scene, but he refused ambulance transport to a hospital for additional treatment, Riley said.

The victim suffered severe bruising on his face.

Police do not know the relationship between Marlon and Kenneth Hamilton, but said the victim is acquainted with both men.

A warrant charging Kenneth Hamilton with assault was obtained and served Friday. The warrant for Marlon Hamilton had not been served as of 10 a.m. Monday morning, Riley said.

Online court records did not show any scheduled court hearings for either man in the Williamsburg-James City County General District Court by 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.
