Visitors can get a tour of the Francis Land House, play old-school games and take a “Ye Olde selfie” this weekend.
Virginia Beach History Museums is offering free admission to the house, located at 3131 Virginia Beach Blvd., on Saturday.
The house features antiques and home furnishings from the period of 1805-1819.
Tours of the Francis Land House include discussions on plantation life, household chores and the private lives of the owners. The tour will also touch on the vibrant history of the house in the 20th century, when it served as a dress shop.
The city of Virginia Beach purchased the Francis Land House in 1975, and opened it to the public as a historic museum in 1986.
The museum is open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The last tour of the day will begin at 3 p.m.
