Play ball: registration open for Williamsburg spring sports

January is over and better weather is on the horizon. One sure sign: Registration opens Wednesday, Feb. 1 for spring sports in Williamsburg.

Options include girls’ softball, co-ed youth volleyball and adult volleyball, according to a release from the departments of parks and recreation.

The girls’ softball league is open to players between the ages of 5 and 13. T-ball registration costs $40 per player. Coach pitch is $45 per player and fast pitch is $50.

Co-ed volleyball is open to players in kindergarten through 12th grade, for a fee of $45 per player.

The registration fee for an adult volleyball team is $175.

The city is also looking for volunteer coaches for the youth sports programs. If you’re interested, call 757-259-3760. All volunteer coaches must pass a background check.
