JCC Police seek public help in finding fugitive sex offender

James City County Police are looking for a violent sex offender.

An alert posted Wednesday on James City County’s Facebook page stated that police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Bruce Wayne Harris, Jr.

Harris is wanted for two counts of violation of probation for a felony offense on Sept. 20.

According to Williamsburg/James City County Circuit Court records, Harris was found guilty of carnal knowledge of a child between 13 and 15 years old in 2003, which is a class 4 felony.

Harris was sentenced to ten years in prison, with seven years suspended, for the crime. He also was charged with failing to register as a sex offender on multiple occasions, most recently in 2011, according to Williamsburg/James City County Circuit Court records.

James City County police stated that Harris’ last known address was Indian Summer Lane in James City County. Police also said that Harris is six feet tall, weighs 150 pounds and is 34 years old.

According to Virginia’s State Sex Offender Registry, Harris’ most recent place of employment was H.G. Bass Clothing Company in the Williamsburg Premium Outlets.
