5:26 p.m. update:
According to an alert from William and Mary, police do not believe that the three armed suspects remain in the area. The robbery occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. in the Rolling Meadows neighborhood.
WMPD has increased patrols in the area and will continue to do so throughout the evening. While WMPD states that they do not believe there is an immediate danger, they caution residents to remain aware of their surroundings. They also ask that anyone who sees something suspicious to call 911 or 757-221-4596.
An emergency alert from William and Mary has reported an armed robbery in the area of Rolling Meadows. The initial description is three male suspects with handguns who fled towards Dillard Complex. WMPD is on the scene in the area of Dillard and Plumeri Park. WMPD has warned citizens to avoid this area.
