Mark Anthony Lowe, 63, of Fort Worth, Texas, was sentenced to 40 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release in the Eastern District Court of Virginia on Wednesday.

The sentence comes after Lowe admitted to sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl while visiting her family on base during the 2015 Christmas holiday, according to a United States Department of Justice news release.

Lowe touched the girl and asked her to touch him while putting her to bed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day of 2015. An investigation showed he also had videos of the girl playing in the bathtub on his phone, court documents states.

Lowe pleaded guilty to coercion and enticement of a child and penalties for a registered sex offender on April 26. He is a registered sex offender whose rap sheet includes sexual assaults with a child in Tarrant County, Texas, in 1993, according to the release.
