Motorists should expect delays Wednesday as Virginia Department of Transportation bridge crews perform maintenance on the George P. Coleman Memorial Bridge/Route 17.
According to a news release, the roadwork will require a full directional traffic stop on both north- and southbound sides of the bridge.
The traffic stop is scheduled to occur between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, with the stop expected to last up to 20 minutes.
“VDOT attempts to schedule maintenance during travel periods when traffic volumes are lower, to reduce impact to motorists,” the release stated.
