Virginia Beach OKs plan for weekly Oceanfront 5k races

VIRGINIA BEACH – The city crossed the finish line Tuesday on a plan to bring weekly summer 5K races to the boardwalk.

The City Council approved a plan by J&A Racing — host of the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon — to host the races June 22 to Aug. 10 along the Atlantic. The races will be Wednesdays between 8-10 a.m near 31st Street and will cost $25 to enter.
