Registration is now open for the second-annual Run for the Bacon 5K and one-mile fun run, set for Saturday, June 11, in Williamsburg.
The Run for the Bacon event supports Bacon Street Youth and Family Services, a private, nonprofit organization that provides services to young people and families in the Historic Triangle affected by substance abuse and mental illness.
Same-day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. on race day. The one-mile fun run will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the the 5K race scheduled to at 8 a.m. at the pool on the grounds of Eastern State Hospital.
Early registration may be completed here. The cost to enter the 5K is $30, while the fun run costs $10.
Participants will receive a race T-shirt and bag. They also will gain access to an after-race party featuring a bacon costume contest and numerous bacon-topped foods.
