Friday is National Bike to Work Day, and the City of Williamsburg is celebrating by offering a free lunch to anyone who bikes, walks or even takes a bus or carpools to work that day.
The holiday, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists, is part of National Bike Month in May.
The League of American Bicyclists recommends biking to work as a great way for people to boost their health while also supporting the health of the environment.
The City of Williamsburg is expanding the holiday’s scope by including walkers and carpoolers, as well as bikers. All three groups of commuters can RSVP by the end of the day Thursday to a receive free sub lunch courtesy of the Williamsburg Area Bicyclists and BikeWalk Williamsburg.
The lunch will take place at noon Friday at the City of Williamsburg Community Building, 401 N. Boundary Street.
