After 25 years at the helm of Nails Uptown, Jenny Do has expanded the salon to now offer hair salon services.
Adjacent to Nails Uptown in the Williamsburg Crossing Shopping Center at 5251 John Tyler Highway is Hair Uptown, which marks the third expansion for Do and her team.
“She put a lot of time and effort, sacrificed herself having a family and never giving up,” said Terry Giang, marketing manager for Nails Uptown. “She tried really hard and has had a lot of success.”
Giang said Do came to the U.S. from Vietnam many years ago as the first in her family to reach the U.S. in search for opportunity.
“Every year is growing, and we’ve won several awards back to back,” Giang said.
Nails Uptown offers a variety of salon services, including manicures and pedicures, facials, eyelash extension, eyebrow tattoo, back massages and body waxing among others. Hair Uptown will offer haircuts, color and styling.
Giang said the salon sells jewelry, tea and other products, and spray tanning will be coming soon.
Giang said the salon also does a lot of work in the community, raising money for Alzheimer’s disease and breast cancer initiatives as well as The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program during Christmas.
