A 23-year-old Seaford man has been arrested for stabbing his grandfather, deputies said.
York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office investigators were notified a stabbing victim was being treated at Mary Immaculate Hospital around 9 p.m. Sunday. They learned the 67-year-old man had been stabbed by his grandson, Christopher A. Carter, in the Seaford home on the 10 block of Sparrer Road where they all lived.
The man is currently in stable condition at Riverside Hospital.
Carter was stealing cash, jewelry and other items from the home when he stabbed his grandfather; he threatened his grandmother with a gun before stealing his grandfather’s car and driving off the premises, deputies said.
Carter was later found in Richmond with the stolen car; he was arrested without incident.
He has been charged with one count each of attempted first-degree murder, robbery, grand larceny and vehicle grand larceny, as well as two counts of brandishing a firearm and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
