Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won the support of voters in James City County and York County in the Democratic Primary race Tuesday, but Sen. Bernie Sanders eked out a majority in the City of Williamsburg.
The majority of voters in the Historic Triangle fell in line with the state results, which show Clinton defeated Sanders (D-Vermont) with more than 64 percent of the vote. All precincts have reported results.
Clinton had her largest margin of victory in James City County with 65.1 percent of the vote, or 5,210 votes. In York County, 3,292 ballots were cast in her favor for 61.45 percent of the vote.
Sanders edged Clinton out in the City of Williamsburg by 38 ballots, which helped him earn 50.68 percent of the vote.
