Local schools and organizations have canceled events slated for this afternoon because of pending severe weather in the Historic Triangle.

Below are confirmed cancellations for this evening:
York County
- The York County School Division announced cancellations of all after-school and evening activities, which includes tryouts for spring sports.
- York County’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department canceled all sponsored activities and private group gym use because of the hazardous weather.
James City County
- Williamsburg-James City County Schools has canceled all after-school activities and events, which includes tryouts and practices for spring sports.
- Warhill’s playoff girls basketball game against Petersburg scheduled for tonight has been postponed.
Williamsburg
- Quarterpath Recreation Center will close at 4:30 p.m. today. All activities including youth and adult basketball games have been postponed.
