Watch: Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens Release Commercial Together

Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens are teaming up to encourage tourists to have “the best spring break in history.”

In the Williamsburg-area attractions’ first joint marketing campaign, a family is bickering about whether to take an educational or action-packed vacation when they’re told they can experience both in one trip to Williamsburg.

The ad promotes a package deal for “the best spring break in history,” in which guests who book a minimum of three days and two nights at the Williamsburg Woodlands, Williamsburg Inn or Colonial Houses receive free tickets to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg, a free shuttle between the amusement park and the hotel and a behind-the-scenes tour of Busch Gardens.

The commercial will first air Monday during the 58th annual Grammy Awards on CBS in the D.C., Philadelphia and New York markets. It will also appear on CBS.comHulu.com and the websites of national family magazines, such as Family Circle and Parents.

The ad launches a year-round advertising and marketing campaign from the two Williamsburg institutions in an effort to promote the “fun of an extended stay in greater Williamsburg,” a news release states.

Building off the success of the Bounce Pass, which offers tourists a savings on up to seven days at Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA, the expanded partnership designates the Williamsburg Lodge and Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites as the “official hotels of Busch Gardens.”

“The region’s attractions – and Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are just a few – offer days of fun and something for every member of the family,” said Florencio Ferrao, Colonial Williamsburg vice president of hospitality. “The whole is far greater than the sum of its parts, and this new partnership combines some of our top attractions and amenities – including our award winning hotels – to attract visitors and encourage an extended stay.”
