After spending 10 years renting space in the SunTrust Building at 4801 Courthouse St. in Williamsburg, Bdefined has purchased a new, permanent space in New Town.

To celebrate their new space – located at 5207 Center St., Unit D – members of the Bdefined staff were joined by Jamestown District Supervisor Kevin Onizuk for a Feb. 2 ribbon cutting ceremony.

“We didn’t do [a ribbon cutting] for our old spot 10 years ago, so it was good to do it for the new spot,” joked Bdefined Owner Bridgit Charlton. “It was good to have everybody here.”

Additionally, Bdefined will hold a grand reopening ceremony Feb. 18. The all-day celebration that begins at 7 a.m. will offer free demos for the studio’s adult athlete class, boxing class, metabolic meltdown class, yoga class and cooking lessons.

The studio will also hold a reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 5 to 7 p.m. following the demo classes.

Bdefined’s new space is not significantly larger than its old space, surpassing the old space by roughly 400 square feet, but the layout of the new facility is something that stood out to Charlton.

The front of the gym is open and does not contain much workout equipment. Instead, the open space is reserved for exercise classes and training activities that require more space. Toward the back of the gym lies the more standard strength-based workout equipment.

Charlton described the interior of Bdefined as “upscale,” but with a rustic, industrial look that gives it more of an edge than the previous location. Thus far, reception has been positive from gym goers.

“They love it,” Charlton said about the new space. “It’s a different vibe. I think the design and space is unique.”
