The following government offices and businesses will be closed for the New Year’s holiday:
James City County
- County offices, convenience centers and the garbage transfer station will be closed Friday.
- The Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- The James City County Recreation Center and Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, as well as public libraries, will be closed from 6 p.m. Thursday through Friday.
York County
- County offices, York-Poquoson Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, York-Poquoson Social Services, York County libraries and Waste Management Center Administrative Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- The Virginia Cooperative Extension will be closed Friday.
- The transfer station, recycling drop off facility and VPPSA compost facility will be closed Friday.
- There will be no curbside garbage or recycling collections Friday. Garbage and recycling collections scheduled for Friday will be moved to Saturday.
City of Williamsburg
- City offices, Waller Mill Park, Williamsburg Regional Library, Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse and Quarterpath Recreation Center will be closed Friday.
- There will be no curbside garbage or recycling collections Friday.
Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority
- Recycling normally scheduled for Friday will be picked up Saturday.
Thomas Nelson Community College
- The college’s Williamsburg and Hampton campuses will be closed through Jan. 3.
