Busch Gardens’ Christmas Town opens today for its seventh season.

The latest iteration of the annual holiday event will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 27 through Dec. 6 and every day from Dec. 11 through Jan. 3 except Christmas.

This year’s Christmas Town boasts more than 8 million lights and six holiday-themed shows ranging from the rock-and-roll retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to a musical journey through events of the first Christmas.

New this year is ‘Twas That Night, an ice spectacular starring world champion and two-time Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko.

The show will be the first in several years to grace the stage at the Royal Palace Theatre, located in the park’s Aquitaine hamlet, which has been transformed into a frozen pond for this retelling of the popular poem “A Visit From St. Nicholas.”

Guests to the park can also take part in several unique photo opportunities at Highland Stables, Polar Pathway and Santa’s Workshop.

Families hoping for even more time with the jolly old elf can purchase an additional ticket to “Santa’s Fireside Feast.” Kids will gather round while Santa recounts a classic Christmas story, and guests can enjoy a delectable buffet of food prepared under the watchful eye of Mrs. Claus.

Many of the park’s rides also stay open for the event, weather permitting. On opening day, the rollercoaster Alpengeist will be open to guests. Starting Dec. 4, the park’s newest rollercoaster, Verbolten, will be opened for Christmas Town.
