A Williamsburg man entered a guilty plea for his involvement in a hold-up at the Star Express convenience store in Toano last December.
Dijon Boyd made a plea agreement with the prosecution, pleading guilty to one count of felony robbery in Williamsburg-James City County Circuit Court on Friday. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the use of a firearm in commission of a felony charge he faced.
Boyd, along with co-defendant Donte Nelson, was accused of entering the convenience store and holding two employees at gunpoint before robbing them and forcing them into a freezer.
Two other individuals charged in the matter, Dominnic Christian and Tysean Ransome, were accused of waiting outside in the getaway car.
Boyd is the last defendant to enter a plea in the case.
Nelson was sentenced to 23 years in prison with 15 years suspended after his guilty plea on one count of felony robbery and one count of use of a firearm the commission of a felony.
Christian was sentenced to 15 years with 11-and-a-half years suspended after pleading guilty to felony robbery. Ransome had all charges against him dropped.
Boyd, who is being held at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, has a sentencing hearing slated for 9 a.m. Jan. 25.
