Sheila Noll had no opposition in her bid for a sixth term on the York County Board of Supervisors.
Virginia Department of Elections’ unofficial results show Noll, a Republican, has retained that seat with 1,344 votes to earn support from 95.73 percent of the ballots cast. Write-in candidates received 60 votes, or 4.27 percent.
District 2 has 6,494 registered voters.
Noll will be joined on the Board of Supervisors by incumbents Walt Zaremba and Tom Shepperd, both of whom ran unopposed, as well as newcomers Chad Green and Jeff Wassmer. All five are Republicans.
All election results are considered unofficial until a formal results review, which begins Wednesday, is completed and all provisional ballots are counted.
“I thank [the voters] for giving me the honor of allowing me to serve them and all the citizens of York County for another four years,” Noll said.
In a WYDaily questionnaire sent to all candidates in the supervisor races, Noll identified the future of the Western Refinery, Yorktown Power station and George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17) as the main issues facing York County.
