The Virginia Peninsula Public Service Authority is extending its Saturday hours at the York County composting center for drop-offs of leaves and other debris.
Normal Saturday hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but from now through the end of fall leaf collection season the York County compost will remain open until 5 p.m.
The final day of leaf collection has yet to be determined.
The garbage and recycling citizen drop-off centers will also extend their Saturday closing times to 5 p.m., but the transfer station will continue to close at 4 p.m.
