The Jones New York outlet in James City County’s Premium Outlets will close by August, a salesperson has confirmed.

The store is located in the back of the outlets, near Michael Kors, Nine West and the Nike Factory Store. A salesperson said Wednesday the store will close in late July or early August.

A spokesperson for Sycamore Partners, the company that owns Jones New York, said in an email it is against company policy to comment on specific stores.

Sycamore Partners decided in January to “pursue strategic alternatives” for the Jones New York brand. As part of that reorganization, the company decided to close all of its wholesale and retail locations by the end of 2015.

“Following a thorough strategic review of Jones New York’s recent performance and outlook, we have decided to discontinue the Jones New York wholesale business and close all 127 Jones New York outlet stores,” Andrew Hede, interim chief executive officer of Jones New York, said in the news release. “We recognize that the Jones New York brand is important to many loyal customers, and we are pursuing strategic alternatives for the brand.”

Hede said the company is thankful for “all of the hard work and dedication of our associates.” He did not specify what kind of “strategic alternatives” the brand will pursue.

Jones New York specializes in women’s clothing. At the start of the year, there were 127 locations nationwide.
