A suspect wearing all black stole money and lottery tickets from a Penniman Road grocery store Friday, authorities said.
Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said the suspect, who is described as a man wearing a black mask, black clothing and black boots, walked into Terrace Grocery at around 11:45 p.m. Friday and showed the clerk a black semi-automatic handgun.
The suspect demanded the clerk give him an undisclosed amount of money, lottery tickets and his cell phone before forcing the clerk into a back room and leaving, Ivey said.
Terrace Grocery is located at 1102 Penniman Road near Queens Creek Road in Upper York County. A gas station is also located on the premises.
The crime is still under investigation, Ivey said. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP or the Sheriff’s Office Facebook tip line at 890-4999.
