Hungry patrons looking to enjoy a sit-down lunch Tuesday at Ginny’s Restaurant found the doors locked and a “That’s all folks” sign at the restaurant.
The buffet-style restaurant that opened on Route 17 next to the Grafton Square Shopping Center more than two years ago has closed.
Ginny’s Restaurant — run by Ginny Calloway, who leased the building at 4724 George Washington Memorial Highway — moved across the Coleman Bridge from its location in the Hayes Plaza Shopping Center to Route 17 in April 2013.
Its menu consisted of buffet-style country favorites such as fried chicken, hush puppies, coleslaw and meatloaf.
The 2014 assessed value of the restaurant is $1.2 million, according to York County’s property information website.
The 6,244 square-foot building was constructed in 1986 for the restaurant Western Sizzlin. It was also a restaurant called Madison’s Steakhouse and two Chinese buffets before Ginny’s Restaurant moved in.
