Williamsburg and James City County residents are invited to drop off household chemicals and electronics for disposal at a Saturday collection.
The Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority will be at Warhill High School from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday to collect approved items for disposal.
Under the household chemical umbrella, residents may drop off paint, stain, solvents, glue, varnish, gasoline and other vehicle fuels, pest and weed killers, oven and drain cleaners, kerosene and rechargeable batteries. For a full list, visit VPPSA’s website.
Antifreeze, cooking oil and motor oil will not be accepted. These liquids may be disposed of for free at several locations.
Computers and associated accessories, ink, fax machines, telephones, media players, stereo equipment, cables and cell phones will be accepted. TVs are not accepted. For a full list of acceptable electronics items, visit VPPSA’s website.
